Watch the Adelaide Branch – February Tech Talk: Why Understanding Radionuclides in Olympic Dam Concentrates is Important.

Popular guest speaker Kathy Ehrig, Principal Geometallurgist - BHP,  presented her talk to the Adelaide Branch in February.

 

Kathy is well known as a leader of technical excellence, making significant contributions in the fields of mineralogy, geochemistry, core logging, orebody modelling, automated mineralogy and geometallurgy over many decades.

After earning a PhD from the University of California, she commenced working on the genesis of the Olympic Dam deposit in 1992 and continues to provide technical leadership and support as well as considerable industry research and mentoring.

Kathy was awarded an AusIMM Professional Excellence Award in 2017, recognising her significant contributions to the minerals industry. She was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Flinders University for her work unravelling the mineralogy and geology at Olympic Dam.
