Australia has long identified a need to increase the number of people entering STEM professions to address the ongoing skill shortages and skill requirements of the future. In response to this need and after two years of research, WIMnet Victoria has chosen to support the CSIRO STEM Professionals in Schools Program.
The Australian mining and resources industry is filled with innovative, engaging women and men who can play a pivotal role in attracting the next generation of mining/resources professionals and leaders. The CSIRO is a recognised leader in STEM Education and works with industry to assist teachers and inspire children with real world examples of science, technology, engineering or maths-related careers.
If you or your colleagues have a background in STEM and would like to find out more about the program please join us for our ‘Breakfast with a View' to hear from the CSIRO about the importance of supporting STEM education in schools. Discover how you can personally share some of your knowledge, passion and stories with children in your community – “Because they can't be what they can't see”.
