Promoting a sector that values and inspires every professional

At AusIMM we are committed to ensuring the equality of opportunity for all members of the resources sector regardless of race, ethnicity, heritage, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or intersex status.

The AusIMM Council for Diversity and Inclusion drives an ongoing strategy of improvement for the AusIMM and the industry, to provide the support needed for every professional to succeed in the mining sector.

Michaela Healey as the Founding President of International Women’s Forum, brings her wealth of experience to the position of Council Chair along with a diverse panel of industry representatives including:

Our Strategy

We have a diversity and inclusion plan which builds on the progress already made and details how AusIMM and professionals can nurture a culture that will develop a truly diverse and inclusive industry.

AusIMM is committed to paving the way towards creating a more diverse and inclusive resources sector through:

  1. Better representation of diversity in our member base
  2. Creation of a safe and welcome environment for professionals of all backgrounds to be involved in the industry through AusIMM, and
  3. Improvements in the perception of the resources sector as a highly inclusive industry which will simultaneously have a positive influence on the attraction of talent into our sector.

AusIMM Women in Mining Network (WIMNet)

AusIMM WIMnet is a national initiative which supports the attraction and retention of women in the resources sector.

With a series of events for professional development and networking throughout the year, WIMNet provides a support and advocacy community for the growing number of women in the resources sector.
