Mining and Geological Factors Associated with Instantaneous Outbursts of Coal and Gas
This paper considers the application of recent laboratory gas sorption
data to the understanding outburst phenomena in underground coal mining.
Previous use of threshold limits based on gas content and coal rank are placed
in perspective. Although this work focuses on overseas research and experience,
parallels can be drawn for New Zealand coal settings, taking into account
localised mining and geological factors.
