Initial Testing of the Fastflot Process at Pasminco Mining - Broken Hill
A new high intensity flotation process 'FASTFLOT' is explained and its
theoretical advantages compared with other flotation systems are
discussed. The results of initial FASTFLOT testing on the zinc roughing
circuit at Pasminco Mining, Broken Hill South concentrator are presented
and compared to recent plant data. The comparison suggests that on
roughing duties, the FASTFLOT process yields superior concentrate
grade while requiring less than one third the residence time of a
conventional mechanical cell plant. Strategies for FASTFLOT
deployment are also presented.
