the subject of a mini-symposium by the Melbourne Branch of the AusIMM in October,
1993. The papers from this symposium were distributed to the membership late last year "to raise their consciousness and to promote greater awareness and understanding of the
wide range of liabilities that may arise". An introductory paper by Nicholson outlined the many areas in which liability may arise
