Quality Assurance has become a buzzword amongst governments and industry. Notwithstanding the world class work done by its committees in developing codes of
ethics and of practice in field geological handbooks, mining cost estimation handbooks,
and reserve estimation, the AusIMM could better prepare its membership for QA. MICA could provide a simple set of guidelines to enable consultant members to develop
their own QA procedures manual conforming to AusIMM Codes and to IS09003, and
AS3903.
