Super-Scavenging of Zinc Residue by the FASTFLOT Process at Pasmico Mining, Broken Hill
A new high intensity flotation process FASTFLOT was deployed to
recover residual zinc from the zinc circuit tailings at Pasminco Mining's
Concentrator, Broken Hill. Performance of the FASTFLOT process is
discussed with respect to various size fractions. Results suggest that the
process has an affinity not only for fine particles but also for +200 m
particles which the conventional flotation cells failed to recover. Various
strategies for FASTFLOT deployment are also discussed.
