Advances in Geophysical Exploration Techniques - Australia and Overseas
Not so many years ago the reason for an inadequate result from a
geophysical survey was insufficient data or poor quality data. In many
instances such as gravity, magnetic and radiometric surveys, both these
constraints are vanishing or have vanished. High quality sensors,
improved data storage, accurate differential GPS and top quality
interpretive software now enable the interpreter to understand not just the
cause of the anomaly but the host environment in which it resides.
Examples of potential field data and also data provided by the more
complex electromagnetic systems, from Australia Ghana, West Africa,
are used as illustrations.
