Geomechanical Data Acquisition and Numerical Modelling for Coal Mine Design
Mine design procedures will be revolu- tionised by technological developments in computers, software, database construction and management, and numerical modelling programs._x000D_
Developments in geotechnical databases will be required which utilize geological and geomechanical tests to supply appropriate input for numerical models. Techniques utilizing sedimentological and structural modelling are described. The capacity of current numerical models in mine design is outlined and a program for developing a fully integrated mine design package proposed.
