Making GIS Work Like CIS (Colliery Information System)
Spatial data processing using geographic information systems produces
qualitative results which are superior to those from other existing
software tools. However, the answers to various quantitative questions in
mining operations is often limited by the capacity of the GIS to process
appropriate spatial data. The efficient operation of a large underground
mine demands that an adequate GIS be put in place.
