In July 1986, Cable Sands (W.A.) Pty Ltd commenced mining for mineral sands at Minninup, approximately 16 km south of Bunbury, Western Australia._x000D_
The area being mined is from the heel of the foredune to the rear of the hind-dune._x000D_
The vegetation is mostly native vegetation with some old degraded pasture._x000D_
The mining operation will be by suction cutter dredge, with continuous dredging, mineral separation and re-depositing of the sand.
