What Gives a Shoreline Heavy Mineral Potential on the Swan Coastal Plain?
Heavy mineral deposits accumulate on shorelines with interrupted sediment input._x000D_
Beach deposits, which form on shallowly dipping coastal plains, are most favourable. However, shallow shelves seaward of cliffed coastlines are known to contain economic deposits. Significantgeologicalconditions are defined, from review of the stratigraphic and geomorphic controls on known deposits , for heavy mineral accumulation on the Swan Coastal Plain.
