New Flooding Results and their Significance for Blast Furnace Aerodynamics
Flooding velocities were measured in a laboratory column (96 mm 4) provided with both bottom and side air entry Packings used were 6 mm glass rings and spheres and -16 +8 mm coke. Results showed that when air was introduced through side nozzles flooding velocities were much higher than those obtained when air was introduced at the bottom of the column._x000D_
Significance of the results and application to blast furnace flooding is discussed from the viewpoint of assymmetric gas flow.
