This paper will discuss specifically the performances of vibrating screens having circular motion with inclined decks and linear motion with horizontal or near horizontal decks and both related mainly to coal, metalliferous, and other granulated solids applications where screening and efficient classification is required._x000D_
Some misconceptions have been applied in the past with regard to making a screen type selection using either circular throw or linear throw and therefore this paper will endeavour to clarify these misconceptions.
