Complex Orebodies Conference 2018
The inaugural Complex Orebodies Conference 2018 was held in Brisbane, Australia from 19-21 November. The conference brought together operators, service providers and researchers covering the entire spectrum of the mining chain focusing on the innovations required to meet the technical, political, social, environmental and business challenges facing the lower grade and more technically-challenging deposits that characterise future mineral supply. Presentations covered case studies, new technologies and innovative analysis, and focused on five main themes: Current Complex Orebodies - Technical, political, social and environmental challenges and solutions; Meeting future challenges, standards and expectations - The changing landscape of acceptable practice; Transformative technologies to open up new extractive possibilities; Defining and understanding complexity as it applies to the entire mining life cycle; and Trends and challenges of future metal supply.
