A series of laboratory blasting and ball mill grinding tests have been done
on four different types of hard and competent rocks. The results show that
exposing these rock types to a higher level of explosive energy will
enhance their grindability. True blasting optimisation should therefore look at the whole
comminution process from solid rock to a marketable product.
