Rockmass Damage Induced by Transient Blast Stress Waves
The magnitude of stress variations associated with a blast wave near
production pillars is analysed by modelling blast vibrations measured in
the surrounding rockmass. The results indicate a wide variation in stress
which is thought to contribute to the observed damage in pillars adjacent
to the draw points.
