High Intensity Reactor Systems for Smelting of Base and Precious Metals
The factors affecting performance of base and precious metal smelting and converting processes are considered in relation to reactor characteristics. The chemical differences between processes are related to these factors for different reactor systems. The complete smelting and converting flowsheet involves a number of operations. The process selected for a particular feed and product requirement should be one which optimises the efficiency of the process, the cost of building and operating the technology and the long-term maintenance and productivity of the units._x000D_
Ausmelt's approach to achieving an efficient process using its technology is described in relation to the smelting of copper concentrates for production-of blister copper.
