Mass Transfer Problems in Mine Ventilation: Some Solution Strategies
There are many important physical phenomena in mine ventilation which involve transient mass and heat transfer processes._x000D_
These processes have been modeled using differential equations often solved with close form solution. Within the last two decades, many numerical schemes have been devised to solve these mass-transfer problems. Much of this effort has focused on variants of the finite element and finite difference methods. In this paper, the solution of mass transfer models in mine ventilation by finite difference technique is discussed._x000D_
Specifically, the computational effort and the accuracy of the solution are presented.
