The purpose of this paper is to outline the current status of financing in the Australian Gold Mining industry and to discuss a number of developments that have occurred during 1983/84._x000D_
Recognising the importance of equity financing various equity issues, including project valuation, will be discussed against the backdrop of an industry experiencing both rapid growth and a changing structure._x000D_
Nothwithstanding the current tax exempt status of the industry there is a trend towards more debt financing. A number of financing issues will be covered and it will be shown how value can be created through astute financing planning.
