The Iron Ore Conference 2007 follows on from the very successful Iron Ore
2002 and 2005 conferences held in Perth and Fremantle respectively. The theme
for the 2007 conference was Broadening the Base' created by the unprecedented
expansion of the iron ore industry and driven by the ongoing thirst for raw
materials by China's iron and steel industry. To meet this demand, the iron ore
industry is demanding more from its resources, processes and equipment and many
new operations are both in production and under development.
The conference brought together managers, geologists, engineers,
geoscientists, metallurgists and operators involved in the technical aspects of
the iron ore industry from the host rocks to production and processing, and
these proceedings provide an update on the latest developments in the industry.
