Quality of sinter ore by flame zone shape in bed location
The quality and production of sinter ore are greatly affected by the size and speed of the sinter pallet. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the sinter ore quality and micro structure at different location to verify the results of flame zone height and balance. The sinter bed was separated into 25 zones and measured for the quality of the sinter ore showed that the shatter index(quality) and mean size of the sinter ore at 750 to 600 mm above the surface layer is 10% lower than the average. Low calcium ferrite structure with low calorie contents is considered as a main cause of poor results. In contrast, the shatter index of the sinter ore in the lower layer was high due to the higher heat, but the mean size was below the average at the lower layer. This is caused by overheating. It is expected to form more the brittle structure in sinter ore. The increase in error of RI and RDI was caused by the unbalance of flame shape in sinter bed. This is because the formation of FeO and pore varies depending on the shape of the flame zone and the left-right balance. This means that deviations in terms of sinter quality (RI, RDI) may increase even for the same location and condition in sinter bed. The quality of the sinter ore produced under optimum balance and uniform width was stabilized, but in the case of unbalanced flame zone, quality (shatter index, mean size) and yield rate were also found to be reduced by up to 10% compared to average.
