Application of Some Geostatistical Methods to Evaluate Phosphate Deposit (Abu Tartur Area, Egypt)
The experimental phosphate mine of abu Tartur has been recently placed into production._x000D_
Some problems'have been encountered in maintai- ning grade control due to the differences between early block estimates and actual produ- ction grade. An area of 100 km2 is evaluated by using four methods of evaluation , namely polygonal, inverse distance , inverse distance squared and geostatistical methods. The results of calculations are compared statistically with the control values of grade and thickness. The comparison showed that the. kriging technique gave better estimations for the relative ore reserved, while for grades or thickness any of these techniques except the polygonal can be Used.
