The New Leaders' conference series is The AusIMM's increasingly popular series of annual conferences aimed at Students and New Professionals. The New Leaders' 2006 Conference in Kalgoorlie had as its theme 'Riding the Boom. The minerals industry into tomorrow.'
The 25 papers featured in the proceedings include new and innovative technical papers and topical issues that don't always fit into the normal technical proceedings. They were drawn from a broad range of topics selected to highlight the pertinent issues which face students and new professionals in the industry. This event is becoming an increasingly valuable tool for students, mining companies and professionals to interact, often for the first time.
