Structure of sediment-hosted gold deposits in the Great Basin and China: genetic and exploration implications
Mining exposures in Nevada and China allow previously unprecedented views of the internal structure of orebodies, and the relationships of mineralisation to the structural history. This overview has benefited from deposit studies in both regions which illustrate that similar orebody geometries and comparable structural histories contributed to common types of structural controls on ore distribution in each region. These common controls also suggest applications to assessing the nature, position and exploration targeting of Carlin style mineralisation in other regions globally. CITATION: Rhys, D, 2019.
