Papua New Guinea is geologically
prospective for large, medium and small
mineral discoveries. All profitable
developments to date have been very
large mines but for every large mine
there should be many small mines which
could be developed under appropriate
circumstances.
The Papua New Guinea Government
should, with appropriate changes to
fiscal, legislative and policy regimes,
create a favourable exploration envir-
onment to encourage a major increase in
exploration by small exploration
companies and subsequent discoveries
and mine development.
