The theme of the Tenth Mill Operators' Conference: The Boom -
Experience Gained and Lessons Learned; places this volume in the context of its
times. The boom period of 2003-2008 is explored, as are the lessons learnt from
the subsequent financial downturn.
Essential facets of mill operations are covered including;
history, expansion, design, equipment, start-up, comminution, flotation,
tailings, control, strategies and process insights. Operations looked at include
Australia's Angas Zinc Mine and Prominent Hill, the Palmarejo Silver Mine in
Mexico, Hidden Valley in PNG, Phu Kham in Laos, the Jin Feng Plant in China just
to name a few.
There is a strong focus on SAG/AG and HPGR technology,
including new developments and applications from experts in the field as well as
up and coming talent.
