Risk assessment of spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores based on thermal analysis and AHP method
The sulfide ores is easily oxidized in air during the mining and processing. A large quantity of heat by the oxidation reaction resulted from spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores. It would not only threaten the life of employees, but also cause economic losses and environmental issues. Therefore, the spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores is one of the major safety problems in mining at present. There are many factors affecting the spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores. However, the spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores is a complex process, its necessary to consider more about the influence of various factors on the spontaneous combustion tendency of sulfide ores. Analyzing the influence degree of factors on the spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores is conductive to effectively controlling the risk of the spontaneous combustion. In this paper, based on thermal analysis and AHP method, the risk of spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores was evaluated. The TG-DSC curves under different experimental parameters were obtained by using the thermal analyzer. The activation energy was calculated by the Coats-Redfern method. The activation energy and the initial decomposition temperature were used to determine spontaneous combustion tendency. The risk assessment index system of spontaneous combustion including the target layer, criterion layer and the index layer was established by using AHP method. The judgment matrices were constructed according to the results of thermal analysis. The risk weight of each factor was obtained. The research shows that the risk weight of the factors following big to small is particle size, weight and heating rate. The quantitative results of safety assessment are obtained based on thermal analysis and AHP method. It provides reference for mine enterprises to assess the risk, so as to reach the goal to prevent and control the risk of the spontaneous combustion. CITATION:Chen, Z L and Zhou, H M, 2019.
