Study on the effect of seasonal air-flow on high temperature environment in deep mines and its prevention technology

Seasonal air and surrounding rock temperature accounts for severe heat damage in deep mine, which seriously affected safety and efficient production of coal mining. Especially in summer, the high ground temperature intensifies heat damage at underground work sites. To study the effect of seasonal air and surrounding rock on high temperature environment in deep mines, we established the model of the surrounding rock temperature field in the unsteady wind temperature. A method for calculating the heat-adjusting layer by difference method in the unsteady inlet wind temperature was proposed. Meanwhile, comparative analysis of cooling methods has been conducted. We found a cooling method and system suitable for seasonal heat damage in mines. According to the calculation, the temperature distribution of the heat-adjusting layer after cooled was predicted. The results show that as the ventilation time increased, the radius of the heat-adjusting layer continuously expanded and formed a permanent one. Hence, the heating effect of surrounding rocks located in roadway on the wind flow became smaller. The pithead high air volume non-power air heat exchange system was also designed. It was determined that the design could meet the system cooling requirements by simulating the ventilation state in air leakage condition. CITATION:Yi, X, Yu, W, Ma, L, Zou, L and Wei, G, 2019.
