Development in Cut and Fill Mining at ISA Mine
Production from the narrow, high grade silver-lead-zinc orebodies below 15 level commenced in mid 1985._x000D_
Geological, mining research and recent mining experience determined that a mechanised drill, fire and muck cycle would be the most suitable method._x000D_
Ground conditions are predicted to be worse than in other cut and fill (MICAF) areas at Isa Mine, owing to the increased depth, more variable dip of the orebodies and the increased effect of major geological structures._x000D_
Mechanised ground support and tight filling techniques feature in controlling these expected adverse ground conditions.
