Presenter

Bruce Smith is a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, has B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Geology from Otago University, New Zealand and MEng Water and Environmental Resources, IHE Delft, Netherlands.

Bruce has been exploring for 25 years in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North and South America. His principal job is VP Exploration for Radius Gold Inc, but also works with other Goldgroup companies exploring for new mineral deposits. He has participated in gold discoveries in Guinea, Guatemala and Nicaragua and led the team that discovered the 200Moz Ag eq Chinchillas deposit in Argentina.

Bruce will give a talk on exploration of interesting deposit types from Latin America. The discussion will be informal and very brief on a few different ore deposits starting with Uranium in Patagonia, Bolivian silver style deposits, Mexican and Guatemalian epithermal gold-silver deposits, and a new silver barite discovery.
