A World Bank Group report, "Minerals for Climate Action" has estimated that over 3 billion tons of minerals and metals will be needed to deploy wind, solar and geothermal power, as well as energy storage, required for achieving a below 2°C future.

Seher Ata is an Associate Professor in the School of Minerals and Energy at University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
She has taught a number of courses including mineral processing, uranium mining fundamentals and particle processing and technology. She is currently a facilitator of the AusIMM Mineral Processing digital masterclass.
