A technical manager with 24 years of international mining industry experience. I began my career in 2001 at Sibelco as a mining engineer and operations supervisor. From 2002 to 2006, I led production planning and conducted technical studies at Mineração Rio do Norte in Brazil. In 2007, I transitioned to diamond mining at BHP EKATI Diamond Mine, progressing from Senior Engineer to Manager Planning, overseeing mine technical services for both open cut and underground operations. I was the Competent Person for Reserves from 2011 to 2013.
In 2012, I joined BHP (Western Australia Iron Ore) in technical leadership roles, including Manager Strategic Mine Planning and Manager Operations Planning. I provided life-of-asset design, schedule optimization, and mine planning analysis for growth, sustaining studies, M&A activity, and commercial negotiations. From 2014 to 2016, I led analysis and improvement work, talent management, and integrated planning support. Following the Samarco Fundão Tailings Dam collapse in 2015, I led BHP's restart planning for the support and advisory group.
Before joining AMC, I worked at Regeneration (2023) and Rio Tinto Iron Ore for five years, leading mine technical services at Robe Valley and Yandicoogina leading mine geology, planning, drill and blast engineering, survey, and geotechnical engineering. I also led the Mine Closure Studies portfolio for the Iron Ore business.
