The Fourth International Future Mining Conference 2019 followed on from three successful conferences held in 2008, 2011 and 2015. The conference series has become a unique key event in the mining calendar.
The themes of the conference included technology integration & management; automation & robotics; artificial intelligence; mine internet of things; big data; space mining; mineral processing frontiers; and green mining and social acceptance.
The conference was a forum for communication between current and future industry leaders, technologists, scientists & engineers, mine executives, government representatives, mining academics and other stakeholders. The conference addressed innovations and opportunities to transfer scientific and technological developments from other disciplines into the minerals industry. It examined human factors and skills needed for future operations, identified possible blue-sky scenarios of Mining in the Future', and looked at strategies of mining education and research, novel mining systems and future commodities and directions.
The proceedings is a collection of extended abstracts.
